Our family is trying to locate some information on
our biological mother Dorothy Lovell. Our mother was placed orphanage and was
then placed with her foster parents Cecil V. and Bessie L. Duffie. (Mom's was
never adopted by the Duffie's) .We recently discovered on Mom's Birth and Death
Certificate that her mother's name was Pauline Lovell Pauline was about 22
years old when she had Mom. Pauline's occupation was listed as a maid and she
was born in Cassia. Fl. Our family has been doing a lot of research
Ancestory.com on Pauline Lovell and her family and this is what we know.
Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of our Mom as a child, but we do have
one of her in her late twenties. Mom raised 7 children with our Dad James V.
Nichols, But he died suddenly @ the young age of 46, then over a year later our
brother Troy died suddenly of unknown illness. He was only 21 years old. Mom
took it very hard but she continued to work 40 hours a week @ King Edward Cigars
and manage to raise the rest of us kids on her own. Mom never remarried and she
able to retire from King Edwards after 35 yrs of employment. Our Mom was a
loving and caring mother and I just wish her mother Pauline would have known
what a great person, wife, mother our mother turned out to be. Mom only had a 10
grade education, never drove a car..but manage to take care of her family. Not
many people today can say that about their parents.
