Bruce Herbert Pahaly, 64, of The Villages, Fla. and formerly of
Clermont and Groveland, passed away Oct. 26, 2009, at his residence. He was born
Feb. 4, 1945, in DeKalb, Ill., the son of the late Elwin Frederick Pahaly and
Nancy Sevall Pahaly.
A Florida resident since 1968, he was a former
school teacher, Lake County deputy sheriff and a retired lieutenant with the
Florida Department of Corrections. He was very involved in the Florida Police
Olympics, a member of the Florida Crime Council, a retired member of the Central
Florida Police Benevolent Association, a member of Villages "Singles" Club and a
member of the Moose Lodge.
Graveside services will take place at 2 p.m.
on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
