Ivan Earnest Beyers Sr, son of
John William & Cecelia Florine (Thomas) Beyers, was born 25 Nov 1898,
Mason, Effingham, Illinois, and died 3 Feb 1975, Lake County, Florida. He
married first Violet Elizabeth Beyers (1900-Mar 1925); he married second
Florence Inez McCloskey Beyers (17 Dec 1899-25 Mar 1971); he married 14 Jan 1973
in Lake County, Margaret Pauline Fralish.
Ivan came to Leesburg in 1916,
and in September 1918 he worked for B.D. Harris at Leesburg. Ivan opened his
first funeral home at Umatilla about 1918-1919, and opened in Leesburg in 1931
in the J. Y. Clark house on Main Street.
