Children - Martha E., L.A., L.E., Mary C. and Samuel E. all born Putnam county. Jeter NEWTON LANE married a Miss Bell Abt 1898 son born Gordon Newton LANE also a Twin Girls.

CAMPBELL, GILLIS, MCDERMOTT, MCLEAN, STANDLEY, STANLEY posted by Mary Jane Pattillo on Friday, May 1, 1998: I am searching for my great grandparents. Their last name was MCDERMOTT. They may have lived in Putnam County in the 1860's and early 1870's. I have found a land record in Putnam County for a John MCDERMOTT in 1861. Although I am not sure of my grandfather's first name, his son and my grandfather, was named John or Johnnie. I am guessing that my great grandmother's given name may have been Annie Lee, as both my grandfather and great aunt named daughters Annie Lee. My grandfather was born ca. 1874. His sister, Mary, was born ca. 1871. Both John and Mary were born in Florida. Their mother was born in Florida. Their father was born in either Ireland or Florida. They also had another sister, Ida, who married a STANLEY/STANDLEY. John was adopted by Christian GILLIS CAMPBELL. Mary was adopted by James MCLEAN and Catherine GILLIS MCLEAN. Mary MCDERMOTT is found in the Census of Walton Co. in 1880 living in the household of James MCLEAN and listed as a ward. John is found in the 1900 census of Walton Co., living in the household of Christian CAMPBELL and listed as adopted. Any help would be much appreciated.

Appears on the 1870 U.S. Census - State of Florida -Enumeration for Suwannee County. As recorded, Thomas J. HILL shown with wife, Elizabeth CARAWAY, daughter Florence, and son Wade H. in Live Oak, Suwannee County. The 1880 Census, shows Elizabeth and Wade H. appear, also a R.D.HILL and his wife Julia D. HILL. R.D.HILL believed to be Thomas' brother. Of great interest is the fact that under columns 9, 10, and 11, entitled "Civil Condition", shows that Elizabeth HILL was "Widowed" as of June 1880.Elizabeth CARAWAY indicates on the Census she, her father and mother all born in SC. Wade Hampton Hill was born 11 Dec 1868, Suwannee County, Live Oak, Florida, Florence DOB is unknown. The 1885 Census, shows Elizabeth remarried to a Thomas JOHNSON. Wade H. also appears, but Florence does not. Wade Hampton HILL married Mary Etta Driggers, 1890, Green Cove Springs, Clay County, Florida. Mary Etta was born 15, April, 1873, Bostwick, Putnam County, Florida. Wade died 06 Dec, 1935 and Mary Etta died 02 Nov, 1942. They had 9 children. Wade and Mary Etta are buried in Eagle Lake, Polk County, Florida at the "Church Of Christ Cemetery". If anyone has any information please contact me.

They resided at Florahome, Putnam Co., FL, and were buried at Paran Baptist Church, Grandin, FL. Sons Joseph S. WALTERS (1894-1962, married Claudia ?) and George Louis WALTERS (1897-1962, married Paralee JOHNS) are believed to have resided in the area and later in Marion Co. FL and the St. Marys GA area. PATTERSON, WILLIAMS posted by Latoska N. Price on Sunday, May 10, 1998: Looking for information regarding my ggrandfather and ggrandmother Alexander WILLIAMS and Jessie Mae PATTERSON WILLIAMS. Both lived San Mateo, Fla and had six children: Allen, Eugene, Ella Mae (my grandmother),Olga , Willie and Latoska. Alexander, Jessie and Latoska all died in San Mateo, Florida in 1934, 1945 and 1945, respectively. I have not been able to locate death certificates in the state of Florida for Alexander and Jessie. CROUCH, MCCALL posted by Janis (McCall) Dunham on Friday, June 26, 1998: John N. MCCALL, B; 31 Jan 1858, son of Frank, born Hamilgon Co. John N. married Mary (Molly) E., B: 1865. 1900C for Putnam Co. list ages as 47, 34 and married for 17 yrs. The 1910C I cannot read the county. 1920C shows Hamilton Co. Chn: Julian J., Ruby, Johnnie Mae, William, Leo. Johnnie Mae provided info. for her father's death certificate. Julain Justice MCCALL B: 1886 married (2) Georgia Frances CROUCH (widow) in 1920. Three sons: John Francis, George Samuel, and Robert Leo. I am the oldest daughter of John Francis MCCALL. Johnnie Mae provided info. for her father's death certificate. I cannot locate a marriage certificate for Georgia and Julian Justice, but grandmother MCCALL wrote my father a letter giving the year of her marriage. Julian Justice MCCALL passed away 1927 from TB complications. I would like contact w/anyone knowing of these people. We know so very little on the MCCALL side of our family. I have some copies of death certificates. Have info. on my cousins of George and Robert MCCALL; their children/grandchildren; my siblings, niece and nephews.
