My name is Candi Rowe Giddens and I am trying to find information of my
great, great grandfather William J. Ward who was once the Sheriff of
Lake
and Sumter County. Any information you could provide would be
greatly
appreciated. This was my paternal
grandmother's, maternal
grandfather. I currently live in Grand Island and my parents
live
in Sumter Co. (where they have lived since I was 4 years old).
My
husband was a former LCSO Deputy and is now with Fla. Dept. of Law
Enforcement.
So I thought it interesting that I married someone in law
enforcement -

I am looking for information about a Daniel Webster Ward that resided
in Lake County, Fruitland area sometime in the 1950's. He died in the
'70's or
'80's. My understanding is he operated or owned an orange grove.

I would like to locate a high school classmate of my husband. His name
is Millard Fillmore Harris III. I believe he lives in Astatula. He
attended high school in Utica, New York at Utica Free Academy in the

SAPP
Hello, I am researching my family on my paternal grandfather's side.
His name was Isaac Sapp and he moved to Minneola, Florida with my
grandmother Alice Rae (Lucas) Sapp in the mid 1920s. Isaac died after
being the police officer there in Minneola for about 20 years in 1968.
Alice died in Minneola in 2000. They raised 8 children there. Isaac's
mother and a sister also moved to the Clermont area around the same
time. His mother's name is Sophronia Bussell Sapp. If anyone has any

all moved to Florida from Irwin County, Ga. I am particularly
interested in knowing who Sophronia's husband was along with any other
info that could be provided about her family. I should also add that
Isaac was born in Irwin County, Ga. in 1899 and Sophronia was born in

Eunice Slade Pike was buried in a cementary there by a Little Frankie
Slade. Her father (Eunices' was shown on the marker as H I Slade. Edge

Clermont Adoption
I am looking for my birth family from Lake County, Florida. I was born
in Clermont, Florida, February, 9 1976. I was 4 years old when I got
adopted. I know that I have other brothers and sisters that were
adopted,too. My adoptive parents lived in Birmingham, Alabama. I had a
horrible life growing up with my adoptive parents. Now I am starting
the adoption process myself, and I hope to have them by Christmas.

Susan. Who was Evander's father ? Was it Harry Lee

Simpson family resided in Mount Dora, Fl. They are my great Uncle and
Aunt. I do not remember his name, we called my Aunt "Mattie". I was
told he was mayor of Mt. Dora for many years. They had one son, Jack
Simpson who at one time was in real estate.

I'm interested in Umatilla about 1914 or so. Have you ever heard of the
novel Christy, authored by Catherine Marshall? It was made into a TV
series.
In researching, I found out that Catherine Marshall's parents, who were
Presbyterian ministers, lived in Umatilla sometime after 1912, for a
short period of time. I'm doing research on them, and I want to know if
they pastored a Pres. church there during that time, or perhaps worked
in a Pres. mission. Thanks for any
