Albert Wright

1842-1926

Albert was born 10 Dec 1842, Elkland, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, son of Albert Wright and Maria Van Dusen.  He died 15 Feb 1926, Tampa, Hillsborough, Florida, at the home of a son, and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis, 17 Feb 1926.

By occupation, he was a civil engineer, and probably as such, the family moved around quite a lot.  Albert and Jeannette were in Ontario, Canada in 1880, left Canada in 1882, and were in Flint, Michigan by 1883. By 1885 they were in District #13, Orange (now Lake) County.  They lived outside of Eustis in Woodstock Grove (Sec. 1, T19 R26) (47.7 acres) and appeared on the Poll Books as having voted in 1892 and 1893 with notation that he moved to High Springs (Alachua County).  He formed the "Wright Phosphate Co. in Alachua County in 1897, but listed the company's headquarters as Eustis.  He purchased property in Polk County in 1902 after being in Ithaca, NY in 1900; in Eustis in 1907, in Manatee County in 1909, and Orlando in 1910, where his wife died in 1917.  He had retired by 1920 and lived with his son, Gordon, in Jacksonville.

Albert married 1879 in Woodstock, Canada, Jeannette Taylor Tucker, born November 7, 1854, Ontario, Canada and died June 9, 1917 in Orlando.
She was the daughter of Robert Taylor and Elizabeth Wilkenson.
They were parishioners of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Eustis.
Albert and Jeannette were survived by three sons:
