Prince Theatre Ticket, Leesburg

State Theatre in Eustis was built in 1922.  It was a multipurpose stage with an orchestra pit and a section of stage that would rise up from the basement to stage level and back down as needed.  The large screen lowered for movies.

Eustis also had a black theater on Bates Avenue.

The first movies were shown before 1918 in a wooden theater on the north side of Main Street between Sixth and Seventh streets. By 1918, it was torn down and the motion picture theater was across the street. The second theater, the Prince Theater, was built across the street and today is home to two area businesses. Eventually, the Palace Theatre and the Fain Theatre, later called the Tropic Theater, were built.
